How Covid19 Forced Us To Appreciate Mother Nature

As I was drinking my tea today morning, I pondered upon the effects of this pandemic. It has forced us all to take a pause. Looking at the brighter side, it has helped us understand the importance of taking care of ourselves. It also has taught us the importance of appreciating the smaller things in life.

I now take out time to stand in the balcony, look at the trees, and breathe the fresh air. I take out time to remove my earphones to listen to the chirping of the birds. It was only after we were forced to stay inside that we understood the importance of being out, something we always took for granted. Ironically, it took a pandemic for us to realize that there is more to life than the usual chores or going out for our jobs and paying our bills.

I look at the sky it is changing colors as day progresses into dusk. And for a change, I now notice these colors and appreciate the beauty of nature. I pause when the wind blows on my face, make myself a hot cup of tea, and sit in my backyard. Even though I have a deadline to worry about, and kids to look after, sometimes I hum, and take time out to paint. I look out the window and see a squirrel climbing up the tree with an acorn in her mouth. With people mostly inside the other creatures of nature surely have gotten more space to enjoy themselves.

Sometimes I just smell my old books and wander away into memory lanes far-far away. I have realized that no matter how much I rush, the real joy is in taking the pauses, and what better way to freshen up than indulging in a cup of that heavenly tea. I would say when life throws lemons at you, make yourself a glass full of chilled lemon tea! Not only will freshen you up but also improve your immunity to fight this dreaded virus.

With that thought, I leave you to share your experiences of the positives you have been able to derive from this worst of situations. Leave your comments below!
