Beauty, Organic face pack, Ubtan

We all use store-bought face masks for glow, exfoliation, etc. But, have you tried making your own face pack. A variation of this face pack is also a favorite beauty secret of famous Bollywood actress“Priyanka Chopra” She has posted youtube videos on these home remedies for skin.

Well! I am someone who likes to be in the sun for a self-evident reason, vitamin D, but that also causes me to have skin tans. For years, I have been struggling, and as always, my mom gave the best tip, which works to date.

Our grandmothers and mom have a wealth of home remedies that have been admired for a long time, mostly because they worked well for healing various skin and health infirmities. One of these cures includes ubtan, a face pack traditionally applied on brides and grooms to look impeccable on their wedding day.

This paste is made of turmeric, sandalwood, chickpea flour(besan), milk and rose water. It provides perfect skin and glowing complexion. Due to the common ingredients used in the ubtan, I propose you make it a continual addition to your beauty regimen.

I have created my variation based on what works best for my skin. I keep shifting from one change to another, depending on what benefit I require.

Some of the known advantages of applying this face pack, ubtan

  • Removing Skin Tans
  • Cleansing and exfoliation
  • Moisture retention
  • Glow and hydration

It’s simple and can be made from most of the items readily available from the kitchen pantry, and I can control what I am applying on my skin.

What do you need?

Chickpea flour(Besan) 2 tablespoon

Turmeric one pinch

Yogurt one teaspoon

Lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon

Honey 1/2 teaspoon

Make a paste of the above and apply it all over your body and face. Let it dry before washing it off with lukewarm water. Use this paste at least once a week to see effective results.

Apply the pack on hand or a smaller area on the skin to ensure that it has no reactions.

This pack not only exfoliates your skin but removes all the dirt and foreign particles. The turmeric provides the light yellowish hue as it removes the tan. Yogurt is assumed to prevent skin from sun damage and wrinkles.

Lemon juice is full of vitamin C and helps in toning and cleansing the skin. Honey helps in retaining the moisture in the skin.

What works for me is that I am comfortable applying all the above on my skin as I am happy to consume them too. What works for my body, to some extent, will work for my skin.

I use my mother’s Ayurveda tips in daily routines, works for me, always make your own choice. It has worked for me, and I am happy to share it if it can benefit someone else.

Tip: there can be many variations of the above pack based on your skin type, chickpea flour can be substituted with oatmeal, rose water can be added, yogurt can be replaced with milk, make your own combination.
